Sydney Fish Market (SFM)

Over a period of more than 2 years, I kept going to the early morning auctions at the Sydney Fish Market (SFM). This meant getting up at 5 am many times, coming home not only with great photos but also very smelly camera equipment and cloths. In order to follow the fish from the net to the retail shop, I was invited to go out on a trawler with a local fishermen.

These experiences will be summarized in a photo documentary at the Mosman Art Gallery in Mosman (Sydney) from 13 June to 26 July. Details will be available at www.mosman.nsw.gov.au/mosman/culture/art-gallery

The photos will be an hommage to the people who work around the SFM and make it a commercial and culturally international centre, the quintessential Sydney “en miniature”.
